Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)- Lead
Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team of Lead RMNs within our Nursing Home. The successful candidate will have experience in dementia care, strong leadership qualities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional, person\-centred care to our residents.
Essential Requirements
- Current NMC Registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- Experience working within a nursing home, care home, or mental health setting.
- Proven experience supporting residents living with dementia and complex mental health needs.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Experience supervising, mentoring, and supporting nursing and care staff.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and clinical decision\-making skills.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, medication management, care planning, and regulatory requirements.
- Commitment to delivering high standards of resident\-centred care.
- Provide strong clinical leadership and support to nursing and care teams.
- Lead shifts effectively, ensuring safe, high\-quality, and person\-centred care is delivered at all times.
- Act as a role model, promoting professional standards, best practice, and a positive culture within the home.
- Support, supervise, mentor, and develop nursing and care staff to achieve excellent outcomes for residents.
- Coordinate and oversee the delivery of care, ensuring residents' physical, emotional, psychological, and social needs are met.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans and risk assessments.
- Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, responding appropriately to changes in condition.
- Promote dignity, independence, choice, and quality of life for all residents.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies.
- Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and contribute to effective care planning and decision\-making.
- Administer and manage medications safely in accordance with NMC guidelines and organisational policies.
- Maintain accurate clinical records, documentation, and care reports.
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and residents are protected from harm.
- Support quality assurance, clinical audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote infection prevention and control measures and maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Assist in staff induction, training, competency assessments, and ongoing professional development.
- Contribute to effective staffing, workload management, and team coordination.
- Support the Home Manager and wider leadership team in maintaining high standards of care, governance, and regulatory compliance.
