Structured Cabling Engineer

You will be required to install a wide range of cabling solutions as part of the installations department and will become be a key member of the team, providing support on all new structured cabling installations and will also work with our existing customers on fault finding / moves / adds / changes and expanding their current networks. We are looking for an enthusiastic self\-motivated engineer to become part of our growing team.
You will need to be flexible in this role as you’ll be working on customer sites across South Wales and the UK so some travel and overnight stays may be required.
Work on customer sites may include the occasional weekend work, and night shifts
Duties
- The main responsibilities will be to install, terminate and test Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a data cable.
- Installing Fibre Optics (SM \& MM) and some CW1308 cabling.
- Installation of all types of containment.
- Snagging and testing.
- To work as part of a team with all staff to meet the department objectives.
- Terminating to a high standard and certifying all cables installed.
- Patching cabinets and end user equipment, and relaying information back to the customer.
- Comms cabinet changes and re\-works.
- Site surveys / Audits.
- To take responsibility for own personal development in line with the annual performance objectives.
- To provide excellent service to all customers in line with company standards
- A minimum of 12 months installation experience required, as we are looking for a engineer with the ability to work solo when required.
- Valid ECS/CSCS, IPAF, PASMA desirable but not essential.
- Manufactures installation certificate / CNCI / CNIT would be advantageous but again not essential.
- Skilled to work with a large range of hand and power tools to assemble wiring and telecoms equipment
- Accuracy and attention to detail at all times
- Excellent communications skills used to build a rapport with people at all levels
- Will present a positive company image.
- Will provide a timely, polite and efficient service.
- A good team worker who can work equally effectively on own initiative
- Able to work with schedules and diagrams
- Ability to meet targets without compromising quality or safety standards
- Will be organised and able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team.
- Full Driving License
Minimum 40 Hours Per Week (Monday to Friday)
Job Types: Full\-time, Sub contractor
Pay: £27,623\.42\-£45,065\.93 per year
