We are a growing packaging distribution company supplying disposable food packaging products to the foodservice, catering, retail, and wholesale sectors. As part of our growth strategy, we are expanding into frozen and ethnic food distribution and are seeking an experienced Procurement \& Supply Chain Manager to help drive this exciting next phase of our business.

This is a hands\-on role for a commercially minded procurement professional who can source products globally, negotiate with manufacturers, manage supplier relationships, and identify new opportunities within both the packaging and food sectors.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing the company's procurement activities, developing strategic supplier partnerships, and ensuring the efficient sourcing of products from international markets. A key focus will be sourcing disposable food packaging products and identifying frozen food manufacturers serving ethnic markets.

You will work closely with senior management to support business growth, improve margins, and build a reliable global supply network.

Key ResponsibilitiesPackaging Procurement

• Source and procure disposable food packaging products including paper cups, food containers, takeaway packaging, bags, napkins, cutlery, foil products, and related items.


• Develop and manage supplier relationships with manufacturers in China, India, Turkey, Middle East, and other international markets.


• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, contracts, and supply agreements.


• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and supply chain improvements.


• Manage supplier performance, quality standards, and delivery schedules.

• Identify and develop relationships with frozen food manufacturers and exporters.


• Source products suitable for South Asian, Middle Eastern, African, East Asian, and other ethnic food markets.


• Evaluate manufacturers based on quality, certifications, production capacity, and commercial viability.


• Research market trends and identify new product opportunities.


• Support the company's expansion into food distribution by building a strong supplier network.

• Manage import and export activities, including freight forwarding, customs clearance, and shipping documentation.


• Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely delivery of goods.


• Monitor inventory requirements and work with internal teams on demand forecasting.


• Maintain accurate procurement records and reporting through ERP systems.

Requirements

• Proven experience in procurement, purchasing, sourcing, or supply chain management.


• Experience sourcing products internationally, particularly from China, India, Turkey, and the Middle East.


• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.


• Knowledge of import/export procedures, freight management, and international trade.


• Experience working with manufacturers and overseas suppliers.


• Understanding of packaging products, food products, FMCG, wholesale, or distribution industries.


• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.


• Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.


• Ability to travel internationally when required.

Desirable

• Experience within food packaging, foodservice, wholesale distribution, or frozen food sectors.


• Knowledge of ethnic food markets and consumer trends.


• Professional procurement qualifications such as CIPS.


• Experience with food safety and quality standards including BRCGS, HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent.
