Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and hardworking Assistant Buyer to join our team. The successful candidate will support the purchasing process, manage supplier relationships, and ensure the timely acquisition of goods and services essential for our operations on site. The Assistant Buyer will collaborate closely with various departments to optimise inventory levels, reduce costs, and improve overall procurement efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Placing orders and liaising with project teams ensuring smooth transition.
- Procuring materials at best possible rates
- Assist in sourcing and selecting suppliers to meet quality standards and delivery timelines
- Support the negotiation of prices, terms, and managing price increases
- Maintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier agreements, and procurement activities using our company material schedule.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate logistics to ensure optimal inventory management
- Collaborate with logistics teams to track shipments and resolve any supply chain issues promptly
- Analyse market trends and supplier performance to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Prepare reports on procurement activities and assist in budgeting processes
- Allocating yard materials and plant ready for distribution to site
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build effective supplier relationships
- Knowledge of logistics, supply chain management
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Prior experience in procurement or purchasing roles is advantageous but not essential
- A proactive attitude with strong problem\-solving capabilities
Pay: £25,000\.00\-£35,000\.00 per year
