About the role
------------------
We are looking for an Asset Engineer (Geotechnics) to join our Asset Management team in Network Rail's Southern Region.
As part of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, reliability, and resilience of a diverse portfolio of earthworks and geotechnical assets, including major earthworks such as Folkestone Warren, as well as managing risks associated with historic mining and third\-party slopes. You will also be involved in identifying, prioritising, and remitting schemes for delivery by our partners, ensuring they align with our Strategic Business Plan.
The successful candidate will play a key role in making informed, evidence\-based decisions to manage these assets effectively. You will contribute to the development and implementation of intervention strategies and support the application of geotechnical asset management processes in line with Network Rail standards and policies. Your work will directly support the safe and reliable operation of the railway.
We are seeking a proactive and motivated individual who is keen to develop their expertise and work collaboratively within a dynamic team. While previous experience in geotechnical or asset management is desirable, strong analytical and communication skills are essential. We welcome applicants with a flexible, positive, and inclusive approach to working with others.
In return, you will benefit from a rewarding role with opportunities for professional development and the chance to take real responsibility for improving the resilience of the railway.
