Website Developer
We are seeking a capable Web Developer to join our internal development team, focused on building and improving business\-critical applications.
This is a hands\-on role centred around coding, system development, and process automation. You will be responsible for developing internal tools, modernising existing systems, and helping drive efficiency across multiple departments through technology.
Location (Temporary): Rainham, Essex until Purfleet Headquarters Redevelopment Complete Mid\-2027
Job Type: Permanent – 40 hrs per week – Mon/Fri 08:30\-17:00
Please note, this is a full time office based position \- Hybrid working is not being considered for this role.
Key Responsibilities
Development \& Systems
· Develop and maintain internal web applications using modern technologies including Python (Django) and JavaScript (React)
· Build tools to streamline business processes and replace manual or paper\-based workflows
· Work with databases to create efficient, data\-driven applications
· Maintain, debug and enhance existing systems to improve performance and usability
· Assist in modernising legacy systems and transitioning to newer frameworks (e.g. React)
Data \& Integration
· Work with internal data sources (CRM, operational systems) to build usable tools and dashboards
· Develop features that allow teams to access and utilise data more effectively
· Support automation of reporting and internal processes
Collaboration
· Work closely with the IT \& Marketing Manager and wider business teams to gather requirements
· Translate business needs into practical, scalable technical solutions
· Contribute ideas to improve systems, workflows, and overall efficiency
Skills \& Experience
Essential
· Strong experience with JavaScript (react) and/or Python
· Solid understanding of HTML, CSS and modern web development practices
· Experience working with databases (PostgreSQL or similar)
· Ability to build and maintain full\-stack applications
· Strong problem\-solving skills and attention to detail
Desirable
· Experience with React
· Experience with Django / Django REST Framework
· Familiarity with APIs and system integrations
· Exposure to reporting tools (e.g. SSRS, Metabase)
· Experience working on internal business systems or CRM platforms
· Experience working with Kubernetes (k8s)
