Job Summary:

Please only apply if you have at least 1 year's experience in a Residential Children's Home. The Team Leader is responsible for providing high\-quality care and support to the children in our care, overseeing and co\-ordinating each shift, assisting with children and young people's daily needs and promoting their independence and well\-being. This role involves leading by example, supervising junior staff, and ensuring compliance with care standards and regulations. As a new home and a growing company there will be exciting opportunities for training, coaching and development into senior management for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct Care and Support:

  • Provide personalised care and support to individuals based on their specific needs and care plans.

  • Promote independence and encourage individuals to participate in activities and social events.

  • Supervision and Leadership:

  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior support workers, ensuring they perform their duties effectively.

  • Conduct training sessions and provide ongoing professional development opportunities for staff.

  • Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in care and support.

  • Care Planning and Assessment:

  • Develop, implement, and regularly review individualised care plans in collaboration with individuals and professionals.

  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate measures to ensure safety.

  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care plans, making adjustments as needed.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Maintain clear and accurate records, reports, and documentation.

  • Liaise with LA professionals, social workers, and other stakeholders to coordinate care and support services.

  • Communicate effectively with individuals, families, staff, and external agencies.

  • Compliance and Safeguarding:

  • Ensure compliance with relevant care standards, policies, and procedures.

  • Promote and adhere to safeguarding policies, ensuring the protection and safety of individuals.

  • Stay updated on best practices and regulatory changes in care and support.

  • Administrative Duties:

  • Assist with scheduling and ensuring adequate staffing levels.

  • Handle administrative tasks, including report writing and record\-keeping.

  • Participate in meetings, reviews, and quality assurance activities.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Minimum of 1\-2 years of experience in a residential children's home, preferably in a supervisory capacity.

  • Knowledge of care standards, safeguarding, and relevant legislation.

  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to handle challenging situations and make sound decisions under pressure.

  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
