Argand Ltd is a specialist manufacturer of Low Voltage Switchgear, Motor Control Centres and Power Distribution Solutions, delivering high\-quality engineered solutions to many of Ireland's leading contractors, consultants and end users.
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Switchgear Estimator. We are also open to considering a Senior Estimating Manager for candidates with the right level of experience and leadership capability.

We are looking for an individual who can not only produce accurate technical quotations but also help shape and improve our estimating processes through the implementation of new systems, technologies and best practices.
The Role
Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive quotations for Low Voltage Switchgear projects while supporting the continued development of our estimating function.
Key responsibilities include:
- Reviewing tender enquiries, specifications and electrical drawings.
- Preparing detailed cost estimates and quotations for LV Switchgear projects.
- Liaising with consultants, contractors and clients during the tender process.
- Working closely with engineering, procurement and production teams.
- Identifying value engineering opportunities where appropriate.
- Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Supporting tender handover to the engineering and project delivery teams.
- Continually improving estimating accuracy and commercial performance.
- Reviewing and implementing improved estimating systems, software and workflows to increase efficiency and standardisation.
- For senior candidates, leading and developing the estimating department while establishing best\-in\-class estimating procedures.
Essential:
- Proven experience estimating Low Voltage Switchgear projects.
- Strong technical understanding of LV Switchgear design and manufacture.
- Excellent ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and single line diagrams.
- Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders simultaneously.
- Experience within the Irish electrical contracting or switchgear market.
- Engineering qualification (Electrical Engineering or similar).
- Previous experience working for a switchgear manufacturer.
- Experience with estimating software, ERP systems or digital estimating platforms.
- Knowledge of IEC/EN standards relating to Low Voltage Switchgear.
- Experience improving business processes and implementing more efficient estimating systems.
