As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a motivated Junior Electrical Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone with 1–3 years' experience who wants to develop their career within a fast\-growing Irish engineering company.
Working alongside experienced engineers, you will gain hands\-on experience in the design, manufacture and delivery of bespoke electrical switchgear projects.
The Role
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will assist with the design and delivery of low\-voltage switchgear projects from initial enquiry through to production.
Responsibilities include:
- Producing electrical drawings and schematics
- Assisting with switchboard design and engineering documentation
- Preparing manufacturing drawings and production packs
- Supporting project engineers throughout project delivery
- Liaising with production, procurement and quality departments
- Assisting with technical queries from customers and suppliers
- Updating engineering documentation and maintaining project records
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering department
- Learning and developing proficiency in EPLAN Electric P8 and other engineering software
Essential:
- Degree or Higher Certificate in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Good understanding of electrical engineering principles
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
- Full driving licence (preferred)
- Knowledge of LV electrical distribution systems
- Experience using AutoCAD, EPLAN or similar CAD software
- Placement or work experience within an engineering environment
- Familiarity with electrical standards and regulations
