Superstructure Design Lead – Driffield

We’re recruitment an exciting new opportunity for a Superstructure Design Lead to head up our steelwork design function in Driffield. This is a key role within our end\-to\-end design and build business, offering the chance to influence strategy, develop a high\-performing team, and drive excellence across all superstructure design projects.

As Superstructure Design Lead, you will take full ownership of our steelwork design capability—leading the team, setting standards, and ensuring high\-quality structural detailing across all projects.

You’ll work closely with architects, engineers, internal design teams, and construction teams to ensure designs are delivered on time, to specification, and aligned with Reds10’s ambitious growth strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop the superstructure design team


• Set and maintain technical and quality standards across all design outputs


• Take full responsibility for project delivery within the steelwork team


• Ensure ISO, QA/QC, and compliance processes are followed and continuously improved


• Drive effective communication across site, factory, and project teams


• Oversee resource planning aligned with project timelines and production programmes


• Lead continuous improvement initiatives, including health \& safety in design


• Implement and manage information flow and design strategies


• Conduct regular site and factory visits to gather feedback and improve processes


• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to ensure buildable, high\-quality solutions


• Champion innovation, R\&D priorities, and team development initiatives


• Provide regular progress updates to leadership and lead internal team meetings

What We’re Looking For

• Strong leadership experience with the ability to inspire and develop teams


• Proven track record in structural steelwork design and detailing


• Excellent organisational and time management skills


• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal


• Ability to influence and collaborate at all levels, internally and externally


• Experience improving processes and driving continuous improvement


• Strong technical knowledge of construction, steelwork, and relevant regulations


• Confident problem\-solver with a proactive, solutions\-focused approach


• Good understanding of design software capabilities and workflows


• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
