Site Maintenance Engineer (4 on /4 off Day Shifts)

£44,982 basic wage \+ additional premiums for any Bank Holiday, Christmas, Overtime and additional cover shifts worked.
Pattemores is a family run business on the Somerset/Dorset border who have been trading for eighty five years, firstly as a Transport provider but then growing into producing Dairy Ingredients for food producers. The Production Operations area is now in a period of growth, expansion and investment by upgrading existing plant, introducing new lines and increasing our production capacity to position ourselves ready for the next 80 years. To enable this, we are looking to further develop our Site Maintenance Engineering team by recruiting for full\-time permanent role, working a permanent 4 On 4 Off day shift .The first 2 days of the rota will be on call with support from a back up Engineer.
Your main Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Walk the full production site and associated plant whilst carrying out daily checks and monitoring to diagnose issues before they become production stops.
- Carry out regular, scheduled PPM servicing.
- Fault finding and diagnosis on any breakdowns across the various machinery and plant equipment on the production lines.
- Maintaining all the processing equipment in the dairy, including fluid pumps, air actuators, separators, homogeniser, steam boilers and heat exchangers but full training will be given in all these.
- Assist the Maintenance Manager and Head of Engineering with continuous improvement, recommending changes that could prolong machine life, increase efficiency, reduce wastage and aid the smooth running of departments.
- Liaising with Planning, Production, QA and Laboratory to ensure smooth running of the production facility.
- Ensure all documentation is filled out correctly to maintain Food Assurances.
- Assist with Facilities maintenance and development, root cause analysis, continuous improvement and general daily operational efficiencies.
- Assist with Project work as and when required including the introduction of new plant and equipment.
- Ideally you will have previous experience working in a GMP regulated environment (BRC, Red Tractor etc.) but training will be given in Food Safety and Quality Standards
- Experience in Dairy Process lines is desirable but previous experience with pumps, motors etc. will be considered.
- Interest in future technology and equipment.
- Experience of FMCG / Food environments would be desirable but understanding of rapid response to minimise downtime is also suitable.
- Flexibility to support the business when required at peak times.
- Knowledge and understanding of Health \& Safety requirements.
- Full Accredited Training including PASMA, IPAF, Fork Lift Truck, Emergency First Aid, Confined Space
- All workwear is supplied as well as all required P.P.E.
