Hilton Herbs and Verm\-X are UK\-based manufacturers of premium natural supplements for horses and pets. For over 30 years these brands have harnessed the power of plants to create trusted products that support the health and wellbeing of animals. Based in Somerset but selling across Europe and America the team is small but passionate. We are looking for an extremely organised and proactive account manager to support our existing customers in their growth.
The role
The Senior Account Manager will take responsibility for managing and developing our existing customer relationships worldwide. This is a key commercial role focused on providing an exceptionally high level of account management to our retailers, wholesalers and distributors, ensuring that customers feel valued, supported and important to our business.
The successful candidate will develop a thorough understanding of each account, their market, requirements and opportunities, and will work proactively to anticipate their needs rather than waiting to be asked. They will work alongside our Sales, B2B Marketing, Production, Logistics and Customer Service teams to support long\-term, mutually beneficial customer relationships.
Responsibilities
Account Management \& Customer Care
· Take ownership of a portfolio of existing Hilton Herbs and Verm\-X customers across the UK and worldwide.
· Build and maintain strong commercial relationships with retailers, wholesalers and distributors.
· Develop a detailed understanding of each customer, their business, market and individual requirements.
· Provide a highly responsive, personal and proactive level of service, ensuring customers feel valued and well supported.
· Anticipate customer requirements and identify potential issues before they become problems.
· Ensure actions, commitments and customer requests are followed through promptly and accurately.
· Conduct regular account reviews and maintain clear plans and priorities for key customers.
Account Development
· Support the growth of existing accounts through appropriate range extensions, new product listings, promotions and increased distribution.
· Analyse sales data, track performance and report on KPIs to identify and act on opportunities within existing accounts.
· Monitor account performance against agreed targets and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
· Maintain an understanding of account pricing, commercial terms and profitability.
· Work collaboratively with customers to support sustainable, long\-term growth.
Customer \& Internal Collaboration
· Act as the key point of contact for customers and the voice of the customer internally.
· Liaise closely with the UK\-based Aftersales, Production and Logistics teams to support product availability, deliveries and stock flow.
· Work alongside our B2B marketing support to ensure customers receive appropriate sales and marketing materials and support.
· Collaborate with Customer Service, Production, Logistics and other teams to ensure an excellent customer experience across all channels.
· Provide feedback on customer and regional needs to help inform wider commercial decisions.
Office \& Team Responsibilities
· Work as part of our small, collaborative office team and contribute to the smooth day\-to\-day running of the office.
· Share responsibility for answering incoming telephone calls and directing enquiries appropriately.
· Be willing to step in and support colleagues during busy periods, recognising that no task is beneath any member of a small team.
Requirements
· Proven experience in account management, key account management or a similar customer\-focused commercial role.
· Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and a proactive mindset.
· An exceptional relationship builder with a genuine commitment to customer care.
· Self\-motivated, commercially minded and comfortable taking ownership of customer relationships.
· Confident analysing sales data, forecasts and account performance.
· Experience managing retailers, wholesalers or distributors is desirable.
· Experience in the animal health, pet care, equestrian, feed or supplements industry is desirable.
· Experience working with international customers would be an advantage.
· Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are an advantage.
