Schedule: 5 days (Monday – Friday 14:00 – 22:00\) 37\.5 hours

Job Purpose

The Filler Room Operative is responsible for the safe, efficient and compliant production of finished milk products within the filler room, ensuring products are filled, packed and prepared to the highest quality standards for direct supply to retail customers. The role involves operating filling and packaging equipment, carrying out cleaning and hygiene activities, maintaining accurate production records, and ensuring all food safety, quality and health \& safety requirements are met. The postholder will play a key role in achieving production targets while protecting product quality, minimising waste, and ensuring customer expectations are consistently delivered.

Key Responsibilities

Goat Line Operations

  • Operate and oversee the Gandi filling line, ensuring goat milk cartons are filled, sealed and packed accurately and efficiently.

  • Carry out line start\-up, shut\-down and product changeovers in accordance with company procedures.

  • Ensure the correct cartons, caps, labels and packaging materials are used for each production run.

  • Monitor line performance to achieve production targets whilst minimising waste and downtime.

  • Complete all required production records and documentation accurately.

  • Take ownership of the line and proactively identify opportunities to improve performance and efficiency.
CIP (Clean\-in\-Place) \& Hygiene
  • Carry out CIP (Clean\-in\-Place) processes in accordance with site procedures.

  • Verify CIP cycles have been completed correctly and record all associated documentation.

  • Conduct cleaning and sanitation activities during changeovers and at the end of production runs.

  • Maintain a clean, tidy and hygienic working environment at all times.

  • Support housekeeping activities within the production area to maintain food safety standards.
Quality, Compliance \& Traceability
  • Perform routine quality checks to ensure cartons are correctly filled, sealed, labelled and coded.

  • Verify date codes, batch codes and product information before and throughout production runs.

  • Ensure all traceability records and production documentation are completed accurately and in real time.

  • Monitor product quality and promptly report any non\-conformances to the supervisor.

  • Work in accordance with customer requirements, site standards and audit requirements.

  • Support compliance with all company policies, procedures and quality management systems.
Food Safety \& Cross\-Contamination Control
  • Maintain the highest standards of food safety, quality and hygiene at all times.

  • Adhere to HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) and company food safety procedures.

  • Follow allergen and cross\-contamination prevention controls at all times.

  • Ensure equipment has been effectively cleaned and verified before product changeovers.

  • Promptly report any food safety concerns, contamination risks, foreign body risks or quality issues.

  • Support food safety inspections, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
Equipment \& Process Monitoring
  • Carry out routine checks on filling, capping and packaging equipment throughout the shift.

  • Monitor line performance and identify any abnormalities or opportunities for improvement.

  • Perform basic troubleshooting activities and escalate issues where required.

  • Report equipment faults and support maintenance activities as necessary.

  • Record downtime, wastage and production performance data accurately.
Hygiene \& Safety Standards
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work area following food safety and health regulations.

  • Assist with cleaning equipment and processing areas as required.

  • Follow all safety protocols and escalate any hazards or concerns.
Teamwork \& Collaboration
  • Work closely with the day \& nightshift supervisor and fellow operatives to maintain steady production flow.

  • Communicate clearly about process changes, equipment issues, or irregularities.

  • Support the wider team by helping with shared tasks such as cleaning, organising, or data entry.

  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to high standards.
Additional Duties
  • Perform any other reasonable tasks requested by supervisors or managers to support the smooth running of the operation.

Pay: £13\.45 per hour
