Shopping Centre Manager

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Shopping Centre Manager to take overall responsibility for the day\-to\-day management, operation and commercial performance of a busy shopping centre.

The successful candidate will have responsibility not only for the customer and retail environment, but also for the effective property management of the centre, including tenant relationships, service charges administration, budgets, contractors, maintenance, compliance and the protection and enhancement of the property asset.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced property professional who enjoys a hands\-on management role and can combine strong operational leadership with commercial and property expertise.

Key ResponsibilitiesProperty \& Asset Management

· Take overall responsibility for the day\-to\-day property management of the shopping centre.

· Manage landlord and tenant relationships, ensuring a high level of communication and service.

· Administer and monitor commercial leases and lease obligations, renewals, assignments, licences and tenant compliance.

· Liaise with solicitors, agents and professional advisers on property and lease matters.

· Monitor and assist where needed on tenant accounts, working with relevant advisers and the property manager to resolve issues.

· Maintain accurate property and tenant records.

· Assist where required with rent reviews, lease renewals, lettings and vacancy management.

· Identify opportunities to improve occupancy and the centre in general.

· Support the property owner/asset manager with asset management initiatives and future development opportunities.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will ideally have:

· Proven experience in shopping centre, retail property, commercial property or asset management.

· A strong understanding of landlord and tenant law and commercial property management.

· Experience dealing with leases, service charges, budgets, contractors and maintenance.

· Strong financial and commercial awareness.

· Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship\-management skills.

· Experience managing external contractors and professional advisers.

· A strong understanding of property\-related health \& safety and compliance requirements.

· Excellent organisational and problem\-solving abilities.

· A proactive, hands\-on approach with the ability to work independently.

· Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

· The confidence and commercial judgement to make decisions and take ownership.

A property\-related qualification such as SCSI, RICS or equivalent would be advantageous but is not essential.
