Fire Glass Limited is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers, suppliers, and glaziers of fire and acoustic glass, and is looking to appoint a committed, driven, and keen Full\-time SHEQ Officer at their Head Office, based in Oldbury.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the SHEQ Manager to ensure a safe workplace environment without risk to health.

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the company's Quality, Environmental and Health \& Safety Management Systems.

  • Comply with and ensure colleagues' compliance with all SHEQ policies and processes.

  • Support the development and implementation of policies and processes to ensure compliance with relevant

  • legislation, obligations, standards and best practices in all areas of the department's remit.

  • Produce and sign Declarations of Performance as part ofjoint responsibility with the SHEQ Manager for Factory Production Controls, compliance with the Construction Product Regulations and other aspects of product conformance and quality.

  • Liaise with colleagues and third parties by writing, by telephone or video call and in person to support them with relevant queries, gather and provide information, arrange the provision of goods and services, etc.

  • Create and distribute accurate, complete and timely records and reports.

  • Support the SHEQ Coordinators, Fleet Compliance Manager and other members of the department.

  • Create and review documentation including Risk Assessments, Safe Systems of Work, training materials, etc.

  • Complete evidence\-based incident investigations in a timely manner, identifying root causes and making relevant recommendations.

  • Conduct internal audits and prepare for and supervise external audits.

  • Define, ensure the timely completion and monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventative actions following external and internal audits, accidents and incidents, etc.

  • Ensure the safe installation and maintenance of plant and equipment.

  • Create and deliver training, Toolbox Talks, and other presentations as necessary.

  • Engage with employees and medical professionals to meet duty\-of\-care requirements relating to health and well\-being.

  • 16\. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.

  • Stay up\-to\-date with relevant changes to all areas of the department's remit.

  • Any other duties as required, appropriate for the grading of the role.

Knowledge, Skills \& Experience

  • Previous experience or knowledge of health \& safety, environmental or quality management is essential. Preferably

  • including some or all of the following:

  • \- NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety, or similar

  • \- ISO 9001 Internal or Lead Auditor, or similar.

  • \- ISO 14001 Internal or Lead Auditor, or similar.

  • Basic IT skills, including email, Word and Excel.

  • Time management and efficiency.

  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

  • Written and verbal communication and numeracy skills.

  • Previous experience within the glass industry would be an added advantage.

  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.

  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem\-solving. This role is ideal for a committed professional eager to contribute towards creating a safer, environmentally responsible workplace while supporting organisational growth through continuous improvement initiatives.
Pay: £26,507\.98\-£35,000\.00 per month
