Senior Supply Chain Manager
About the role
We’re looking for a strategic and forward‑thinking Senior Supply Chain Manager to play a critical role in shaping and delivering a best‑in‑class supply chain strategy across our Highways business. In this high\-profile role, you’ll align supply chain priorities with wider business objectives, ensuring we have the right partners, capabilities and capacity to deliver complex infrastructure programmes successfully.
Working closely with procurement leadership, project teams and key suppliers, you will build and embed a sector‑leading approach to supplier relationship management.
This is an opportunity to lead at scale, driving performance, improving resilience and influencing how we work with our supply chain to deliver safer, more efficient and more sustainable outcomes for our customers.
The role is UK flexible, with travel to key Highways locations and projects as required.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the development and delivery of supply chain strategies aligned to business and programme objectives
- Drive category strategies across key spend areas to maximise value and support effective project delivery
- Provide market insight through analysis of supplier capacity, capability and trends to inform decision‑making
- Build and manage strategic relationships with key suppliers to enhance performance and collaboration
- Oversee supply chain performance management, using data and KPIs to drive continuous improvement
- Develop reporting tools and dashboards to provide clear visibility of performance, risks and opportunities
- Partner with project teams to ensure supply chain solutions are fully integrated and outcome‑focused
- Drive improvements in safety, quality, cost and delivery through supply chain engagement and innovation
- Lead and develop a team, fostering a high‑performance, collaborative and inclusive culture
- Support sustainability, digital and process transformation initiatives across procurement and supply chain
- Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supply chain management and complex procurement environments
- Strong track record in supplier relationship management, negotiation and delivering best value outcomes
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insight
- Commercially astute with sound judgement and a structured approach to decision‑making
- Experience developing and implementing supply chain or category strategies at scale
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence at all levels
- Collaborative and innovative mindset, with the confidence to challenge and improve existing practices
