Print Production \& Design Operative
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Print Production \& Design Operative to join our busy event and trophy business.
This is a varied, hands\-on role focused primarily on daily print production, artwork preparation, and operating print equipment, while also incorporating some graphic design and digital content creation. You will manage the full process from preparing customer artwork proofs through to producing finished printed products using our UV and vinyl print machines.
This is largely an independent working role, suited to someone who is confident managing their own workload, making decisions independently, and working productively without close supervision. While you will be part of a small business team, much of the day\-to\-day role is self\-managed within the production studio.
The role offers the opportunity to learn new technologies and grow with the business as we continue to invest in new print processes including laser cutting and glass engraving.
This position would suit someone organised, practical, self\-motivated, and comfortable working in a fast\-paced production environment with seasonal workload peaks.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing artwork proofs for customer approval
- Producing and preparing vector artwork for print production
- Operating UV and vinyl print machines
- Managing print jobs, machine setup, and daily production workflows
- Ensuring quality control throughout the production process
- Resin doming trophy centres
- Assisting with the design of logos, ribbons, medals, trophies, and other products
- Creating graphics for website and social media content
- Supporting the ongoing development and growth of the studio
- Learning and adapting to new print technologies and equipment
- Assisting with the management of a future apprentice
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in print production and/or graphic design
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign
- Comfortable embracing new AI technology
- Strong attention to detail and artwork preparation skills
- Ability to create and prepare vector artwork for print
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Self\-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
- Confident communicator able to liaise with internal teams and customers when required
- Proactive and positive attitude
- Able to work efficiently under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Experience operating print machinery
- Knowledge of UV or vinyl printing processes
