Senior Supervisor/Assistant Manager

The Swan Tarporley is a popular dining pub with rooms at the heart of the Cheshire village of Tarporley. It is a busy food led pub, serving fresh food with an eclectic wine list and real ales. There are 16 boutique bedrooms and an historic function room hosting a variety of events including weddings, christenings and parties.

The Swan Marketing Cheshire's Pub of the Year for 2023 and as business is growing we need another Assistant Manager to be part of the existing team. This is a full time position and would suit a strong Supervisor wanting to progress or Restaurant Manager wanting to learn about bedrooms and events. Alongside our General Manager and existing Deputy will be responsible for:

• Delivering hands on customer service and maintain a high standard of guest satisfaction, at all times, We pride ourselves on our 'Guest first' mentality


• Being the front of house host at key trading hours as agreed with the General Manager, this may include opening at breakfast and closing at the end of the night


• Promoting a fun, positive work environment, we like to enjoy what we do!


• Ensuring that opening and closing procedures are adhered to, in line with company policy, taking account the security and the health \& safety of people and property


• Managing stock\-management processes, including deliveries, line checks, wastage reports and loss investigation.


• Communicating effectively with the team, and if necessary, supporting Management with weekly staff meetings


• Assisting the General Manager and Deputy General Manager with the training and development plans for employees


• Ensure that the buddy system is utilised for all new starters


• Always adhering to all company policies and procedures and licensing law

About you:

• Strong team player


• Good leadership and organisational skills


• Solid experience of working within a busy gastro pub establishment or fresh food restaurant


• Ideally experience with catering for functions, weddings and meetings


• Passionate and customer focussed


• Enjoys what they do and is a positive person
