Senior Subsea Lead Valve Engineer
Introduction:
Lead the delivery of valve systems for complex subsea projects across tendering, engineering, procurement, testing and installation phases.
Responsibilities:
- Define valve technical requirements, specifications and selection strategies in tenders and projects.
- Act as technical authority for valve\-related decisions and ensure compliance with client requirements and industry standards.
- Lead technical clarifications with suppliers during tender and project phases.
- Assess supplier capability, qualification and readiness for project execution.
- Review and approve supplier documentation, designs and technical deviations.
- Drive valve scope through engineering, procurement, manufacturing and testing phases.
- Participate in and lead design reviews, ensuring integration into the overall subsea system.
- Follow up supplier performance to ensure delivery meets quality, cost and schedule requirements.
- Act as the main technical interface towards clients for valve\-related scope.
- Coordinate with systems engineering, procurement, materials and installation teams.
- Bridge communication between suppliers, fabrication yards and project execution teams.
- Maintain ownership of valve scope including technical risk management.
- Identify and mitigate technical risks affecting project delivery.
- Provide regular technical status updates to project management.
- Support installation and integration of valve\-containing systems.
- Mentor and support less experienced engineers.
- Strong knowledge of valve design, actuation and sealing technology.
- Knowledge of materials selection, stress and friction behaviour.
- Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ISO and NORSOK.
- Strong engineering judgement and decision\-making capability.
- Ability to work independently and lead technical scope in complex projects.
- Strong communication skills in English.
- Commercial awareness related to cost, schedule and project risk.
- Experience with SAP, CREO CAD and Teamcenter is considered an advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience within subsea or offshore engineering.
- Extensive experience with valve systems, including design, selection and supplier management.
- Experience from both tendering and project execution phases.
- Experience working with suppliers, clients and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience supporting testing, integration and delivery of subsea equipment.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
Sept 2026, feb 2027, Bergen, physical presence required.
