Due to our continuing growth and success story, we’re looking to welcome a SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER to our Engineering team. In this brand new role, you’ll use your excellent Mechanical design capabilities to provide end\-to\-end mechanical engineering support for the design of advanced high\-frequency RF and microwave systems, modules and amplifiers. You’ll work closely with RF, electronics and systems colleagues, optimising mechanical features that influence RF and Microwave performance, including cavity geometry, surface finish, plating, tolerances and material selection.
And, you’ll manage and motivate your Mechanical colleagues to deliver the same.
Other responsibilities will include:
§ Working alongside our Engineering Project Managers ensuring Mechanical project requirements and inputs are delivered on time to required standards and specs.
§ Completing product research, analysis and input into engineering calculations, design and testing.
§ Generating manufacturing documentation including bills of materials, drawings and assembly instructions.
§ Supporting prototype build, first article approval and continuous improvement activity.
§ Contributing to design reviews \& change management processes.
What you need to succeed:
§ An HND or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Design or working towards it.
§ Previous work\-experience in the following:
o Advanced mechanical design principles and application. Proven capability in system lifecycle delivery, from concept, design, development, modelling \& testing to commissioning.
o Managing, supporting \& engaging reports to deliver high performance.
o Designing modular mechanical architecture for integration into larger system\-level assemblies.
o RF/Microwave knowledge / application
o Material usage and impacts for functionality, performance, thermal efficiency, tolerance control, fatigue, vibration and shock.
o Use of CAD and other engineering design applications.
o Completing multiple projects on time to specification.
