Senior Estimator
Job Description:

We are looking for a talented Senior Estimator to join our dedicated team at our office located in Dublin, Ireland.
The Senior Estimator is responsible for leading and managing the estimation process for large\-scale EPCMV projects, within the pharmaceutical industry. This position involves estimating costs for materials, labour, equipment, and other expenses, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness in project bidding. The Senior Estimator will also support project managers and clients with detailed reports, cost analysis, and resource planning.
Key Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
1\. Cost Estimation:* Lead the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for EPCMV projects, ensuring compliance with client specifications, expectations and contract requirements.
- Quantify and analyse material, labour, and equipment costs.
- Prepare detailed cost breakdowns, from pre\-bid to post\-bid stages, ensuring transparency and precision.
- Review and incorporate project scope, engineering designs, and construction methods to develop cost\-effective solutions.
- Develop bid packages, work scope definitions, and bid tabulations.
- Collaborate with project teams to gather input and assess project risks, timelines, and financial considerations.o
- Identify and analyse potential cost\-saving opportunities during the bidding process.
- Evaluate and provide mitigation strategies for identified risks, particularly with respect to procurement, design changes, and resource allocation.
- Analyse and validate bids from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure that materials and equipment meet quality standards and are delivered on time.
- Ensure cost reporting is consistent and timely to support management decision\-making and project profitability.
- Maintain regular communication with senior management and clients regarding budget updates and progress.
- Provide input into project scheduling, ensuring that cost estimation aligns with project timelines.
8\. Mentoring and Leadership:* Provide guidance and training to junior estimators, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable estimating team.
- Support and review the work of less experienced estimators to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Stay up\-to\-date with industry software tools and methodologies to increase efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5\-10 years of experience in estimating within the EPCMV industry, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- In\-depth knowledge of the construction industry, procurement processes, project management, and EPCMV project lifecycle.
- Proven knowledge of Construction, Structural, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical \& Fire Protection Services
- Proven experience in preparing cost estimates, project pricing, and budgets for large\-scale construction and maintenance projects.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation techniques and familiarity with international standards.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in estimation software (e.g., Procore, Excel, or equivalent).
- Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and contracts.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to analyse and resolve cost\-related issues efficiently.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- High\-level problem\-solving abilities, with the capacity to adapt to changing conditions and requirements.
- Team\-oriented with strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Collaborative working environment with frequent interaction across multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Chartered or professionally accredited status (e.g., SCSI, RICS, AACE, or similar), preferable but not required.
- Knowledge of specific industry standards, such as NEC, RIAI, or local project management standards.
- Previous experience with international or large\-scale projects in diverse sectors (e.g., pharmaceutical, energy, infrastructure).
