Safe Harbor is a family\-run provider of Residential and Residential Dementia Care Homes across Stoke\-on\-Trent and Staffordshire. We’re proud of the supportive culture in our homes and the standards we continue to build—quality, dignity, safety, and person\-centred care, every day.

Our values (how we work)

· Together: Residents and staff at the heart of everything we do. Strong relationships with residents, families and each other

· Safe: Safety as the foundation—robust care planning and continuous review

· Improving: Always learning, listening and raising standards

We’re looking for Senior Care Assistants (Days/Nights) who can lead from the front—supporting residents with excellent care while supervising and guiding the care team on shift.

The role (what you’ll be doing)

· Leading and supervising Care Assistants on shift, ensuring high standards, good organisation and a calm, well\-run floor

· Delivering person\-centred care and ensuring residents are treated with dignity, respect and compassion at all times

· Supporting residents with daily living, including personal care, hygiene, dressing, mobility, hydration and nutrition

· Administering medication safely and accurately in line with the MAR chart, including medication ordering and stock checks

· Supporting person\-centred care planning and risk assessments

· Supporting inductions/orientation of new staff and contributing to a positive, inclusive team culture

· Working in line with relevant legislation, best practice and regulatory standards (including CQC Fundamental Standards)

What good looks like (our expectations of Seniors)

· Leads by example: standards of care, uniform, attitude, appearance, attendance and professionalism

· Takes active leadership on the floor—organises the team, communicates clearly, and ensures the shift runs smoothly

· Thinks ahead and takes initiative—gets things done without needing to be chased

· Supports the wider team (including clinical/admin) and keeps the floor in good order for handover

· Holds standards consistently—addresses poor practice and protects residents’ safety and dignity

What we’re looking for

· Previous experience in a care setting (supervisory experience preferred)

· Confidence with medication administration and shift leadership

· Strong written and verbal communication and good attention to detail

· A caring, organised and accountable approach

· QCF Diploma Level 3 in Health \& Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards (role dependent)
