About the Role
This setting caters to students of secondary age with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, including pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school operates on a static class / primary model, allowing for greater consistency and relationship-building with pupils.
We welcome applications from both Primary and Secondary trained teachers, provided you have the skills and confidence to support pupils with complex behavioural needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons to meet a range of learning needs
- Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils
- Effectively manage behaviour in line with school policies
- Create a structured and nurturing classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with support staff and wider school team
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
- Experience working with SEMH and/or challenging behaviour
- Strong behaviour management skills
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
- Ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual needs
- Supportive and experienced leadership team
- Opportunity to make a genuine impact on pupils’ lives
