KS2 Teaching Assistant required to support Y5 pupil

• Annual Salary: £14.63 per hour

• Days: Monday – Friday


• Start: 1st September 2026 until July 2027

Join a friendly and supportive primary school in Lancaster as a KS2 Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for both experienced Teaching Assistants and those recently qualified, offering a great opportunity to work within the Year 5 class. The position is set to start in September 2026 and is expected to be for the full academic year. This role will involve working one-to-one with a new pupil, helping to support academically, socially and emotionally within the classroom and winder school community.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Support the educational and social development of a Y5 pupil.


• Assist the classroom teacher in planning and delivering educational activities.


• Help manage classroom behaviour and ensure a positive learning environment.


• Work closely with other staff to monitor the progress of students.


• Assist with the preparation of teaching materials and resources.


• Support children with different educational needs and backgrounds.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience working in KS2 is desirable


• TA2 or relevant qualification


• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.


• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and individually


• A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children’s learning.


• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the needs of the children and the school.
