The Headteacher and Governing Body of St Julian's Primary School are seeking to appoint an outstanding and professional School Business Manager (Level 4\+) to lead finance, HR and resources and support services. The successful applicant will work from 8\.30 a.m. to 4\.00 p.m. daily during term time (39 weeks). Holidays must be taken during school closure periods.
St Julian’s Primary School has a three\-form entry from Reception to Year 6 and provides education for pupils aged between 3 years and 11 years. It is located in the Beechwood residential area of Newport. There are currently 616 pupils on roll plus 81 part time pupils in the nursery.

The School Business Manager plays a key role in keeping our school running smoothly and supporting our continued success.
The successful applicant will be highly organised, confident in leading others and enjoy a challenge. You will have experience in school financial management, or similar organisational finance, and HR and personnel processes. You will lead on school site management, health and safety and administrative operations.
The selection and appointment process will involve a test with appropriate tasks and an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors. The Governing Body and Local Authority are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
The post is initially a fixed term position for one year and the successful candidate will be required to commence work on September 1st 2026\.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974\) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
