Job Summary
St Paul’s Clinic is looking for a General Practitioner to join our friendly and committed team in Newport.

We are a busy GP practice serving a highly diverse patient population with significant levels of deprivation, health inequality, language barriers and complex health and social needs. We are looking for a GP who is clinically safe, compassionate, practical and able to work well as part of a wider team.

This role would suit a GP who understands the pressures of modern general practice and wants to provide good\-quality care to patients who may need extra support to access healthcare.

Main duties of the role

The successful candidate will provide safe, effective and patient\-centred care to the practice population.

Main duties will include:

  • Face\-to\-face, telephone and digital consultations

  • Assessment and management of acute and long\-term conditions

  • Safe prescribing in line with local and national guidance

  • Reviewing pathology results, clinical letters and discharge summaries

  • Making appropriate referrals to secondary care and community services

  • Supporting urgent and routine clinical care

  • Completing clinical administration in a timely way

  • Maintaining accurate clinical records using EMIS Web

  • Supporting safeguarding processes for children and adults at risk

  • Working with the wider clinical and non\-clinical team

  • Contributing to clinical governance, audit and quality improvement

  • Undertaking home visits where clinically necessary
Experience
  • Proven experience as a General Practitioner or similar role within a healthcare setting.

  • Demonstrable expertise in patient care with a focus on anatomy knowledge and medication administration.

  • Experience working in specialised fields such as ICU, nursing home environments, hospice care, or home care is highly desirable.

  • Familiarity with medical imaging techniques and their application in diagnosis.

  • Background in clinical research or public health initiatives is advantageous.

  • Strong understanding of nursing home protocols, senior care needs, and palliative treatment approaches.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient groups. Pay: £42,400\.00\-£71,100\.00 per year
