Enfys Care is looking for caring, reliable and motivated casual staff to support children and young people within our residential homes across Newport, Beddau and Bridgend.

This is a casual zero\-hours role, offering flexibility for people who want additional work, experience in children’s residential care, or shifts that can fit around other commitments. Hours are not guaranteed and will depend on the needs of the service, your availability and safer staffing requirements.

You are not required to accept every shift offered, giving you flexibility while still being part of a supportive and professional team.

About the Role

As a Casual Residential Support Worker, you will support children and young people with their day\-to\-day care, routines and activities.

This may include supporting meals, hobbies, education, appointments, family time, community activities, independence skills and emotional wellbeing. You will also support with daily records and follow care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.

You will work as part of a supportive team and receive guidance, training and supervision to help you feel confident in the role.

Casual Working Arrangement

This is a casual, zero\-hours role. Hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on the needs of the service.

Enfys Care is not required to offer a minimum number of hours, and casual workers are not required to accept shifts offered. Where shifts are accepted, workers are expected to attend as agreed and follow all Enfys Care policies, procedures and safeguarding requirements.

Main Duties

The role may include:

  • Supporting children and young people in a safe, caring and respectful way.

  • Building positive and professional relationships with young people.

  • Supporting daily routines, activities, appointments and community access.

  • Encouraging independence, confidence and positive choices.

  • Supporting young people with emotional regulation using calm and consistent approaches.

  • Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.

  • Completing daily records and reporting any concerns appropriately.

  • Working as part of a team and following direction from senior staff and managers.

  • Maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.

  • Promoting safeguarding, wellbeing, dignity and positive outcomes.
What We Are Looking For

Experience in children’s residential care, support work, education, youth work, mental health, autism, learning disabilities or trauma\-informed practice would be beneficial, but the right values, attitude and reliability are just as important.

Essential Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Be aged 18 or over.

  • Have the right to work in the UK.

  • Be willing to complete an enhanced DBS check.

  • Be able to travel to at least one of our service areas: Newport, Beddau or Bridgend.

  • Hold a Full UK driving licence.

  • Be willing to complete mandatory training.

  • Be committed to safe, respectful and professional practice.
Desirable

The following would be beneficial but are not essential:

  • Experience supporting children or young people.

  • Experience in residential care, education, youth work, autism, learning disabilities, mental health or trauma\-informed support.

  • Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care Children and Young People, or willingness to work towards this.
