*We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Sales Manager to play a key role across two of Blackpool’s premier hotels \-* *Big Blue Hotel and Boulevard Hotel*
*This is an exciting opportunity to develop new business, strengthen existing relationships and create innovative, commercially successful experiences across accommodation, groups, meetings, events, food and beverage, and leisure.*
*The successful candidate will have an established network of contacts and a proven track record in sales, ideally within the hospitality, tourism or events sector. You will demonstrate strong commercial awareness, excellent communication and negotiation skills, and a genuine passion for achieving results.*
Main Tasks
Business Development \& Sales
- Research, identify and proactively target new sales opportunities across rooms, groups, meetings and events, ensuring activity is aligned with the target markets, business objectives and customer demographics of the Big Blue Hotel and Boulevard Hotel.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified sales leads, converting opportunities into profitable business and delivering agreed revenue targets.
- Maintain a detailed and up\-to\-date knowledge of corporate agents, travel management companies, key accounts and relevant client sectors.
- Respond promptly and professionally to all enquiries, ensuring all business leads are followed up within 24 hours and supported by a formal proposal where appropriate.
- Respond to agency enquiries for groups and MICE business within agreed deadlines and service standards.
- Conduct effective show rounds, site inspections and facility visits to maximise conversion and revenue opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and engaging listings across appropriate MICE, group and wedding platforms.
- Attend relevant networking events, exhibitions, trade shows and industry meetings to promote the hotels and develop new commercial relationships.
- Develop strong relationships with conference business distributors and the in\-resort team responsible for inbound conference and event enquiries.
- Represent the Blackpool Pleasure Beach group of companies at appropriate meetings and trade shows, working in partnership with Meet Blackpool / Blackpool Tourism.
- Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses, including golf clubs and other relevant leisure and tourism organisations, positioning the hotels as preferred recommendations for in\-resort stays, dining, events and function space.
- Organise and host client events and familiarisation trips, ensuring activity has clear objectives and that return on investment and resulting leads are monitored.
- Build, implement and promote bespoke team\-building packages that combine the hotels with Blackpool Pleasure Beach experiences.
- Develop and maintain a proposed calendar of hotel\-based ticketed events, utilising available event space and maximising incremental bedroom, food and beverage revenue.
- Prepare business cases and costings for proposed events for approval, with all events monitored against agreed ROI objectives.
- Promote the hotels’ food and beverage offering through additional dining and bar events, while continuing to support and promote existing events and offers.
- Work closely with the Director of Revenue (Hotels) to ensure proposed rates and commercial negotiations meet the financial requirements and objectives of the hotels.
- Develop strong working relationships with the on\-property teams at both hotels and the Blackpool Pleasure Beach corporate sales team, ensuring a collaborative approach and shared commercial objectives.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of hotel performance, budgets, forecasts and relevant P\&L information.
- Ensure all sales activity supports profitable revenue generation and contributes positively to hotel performance against budget and historical performance.
- Prepare a comprehensive weekly sales report covering client conversations, sales activity, appointments, leads, proposals and bookings.
- Maintain accurate records of sales activity, opportunities, client information and outcomes.
- Attend departmental, hotel and other relevant meetings as required.
- Ensure all company policies, procedures and reporting requirements are understood and consistently followed.
- Comply fully with all company health and safety regulations, policies and procedures.
- Deliver consistently high standards of customer service, ensuring every customer is treated in a friendly, professional and helpful manner.
- Respond positively and efficiently to all internal and external customer enquiries.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues, hotel teams, corporate partners and external clients.
- Represent the Blackpool Pleasure Beach group professionally at all times.
- Understand and comply with hotel policies relating to the sales ledger and accounts receivable.
- Maintain a strong understanding of budgets, forecasts and relevant P\&L information.
- Monitor hotel performance against budget and historical data.
- Understand and adhere to payment policies relating to individual bookings, group bookings, meetings, events and weddings.
- Ensure commercial proposals and negotiated rates support the financial objectives of the hotels.
- Revenue generation and achievement of agreed sales targets.
- Quantifiable sales leads, opportunities and conversion rates.
- New business development and growth of the client portfolio.
- Event performance, including successful delivery and financial return on investment.
- Quality and consistency of client relationships and engagement.
- Timely and accurate weekly sales reporting.
- Response and conversion performance across enquiries, proposals and opportunities.
- Contribution to overall hotel and corporate sales objectives
