About the Role
We are seeking a highly organised and detail\-oriented Payroll Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive payroll professional who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and delivering an excellent employee experience.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing payroll across Ireland, the UK, and Germany, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and regulations. You will act as a key point of contact for payroll queries and work closely with HR, Finance, and external payroll providers to ensure smooth payroll operations.
This role is open to people who want to work remotely, or in our Cork office.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule for employees across Ireland, the UK, and Germany.
- Ensure payroll records are maintained and updated in line with company procedures and legal requirements.
- Monitor compliance with relevant tax, social insurance, pension, and employment legislation in each jurisdiction.
- Review payroll data including new starters, leavers, salary changes, deductions, benefits, and statutory payments.
- Reconcile payroll reports and investigate any discrepancies.
- Liaise with payroll providers and statutory bodies as required.
- Respond to employee and manager payroll queries in a timely and professional manner.
- Support payroll audits and prepare reports as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of employee payroll information.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll processes and systems.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in a payroll administration or payroll officer role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll processes and payroll legislation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- The ability to manage multiple payrolls and meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem\-solving abilities and a proactive approach to work.
- High levels of discretion when handling confidential information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
- Experience processing payroll across multiple countries.
- Knowledge of Irish, UK, and/or German payroll legislation.
- Relevant payroll qualification or certification.
- Experience working with outsourced payroll providers.
