HR Manager

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced, hands\-on HR Manager to take ownership of the HR function across the business.

This is a broad generalist role covering employee relations, recruitment, absence, performance, policies, contracts, organisational development and day\-to\-day support for managers and employees.

We are also looking for someone with practical Health \& Safety experience who can support the day\-to\-day management of H\&S internally, working alongside our external specialist advisers where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the day\-to\-day HR function and provide practical advice to managers and employees.


• Manage employee relations including absence, performance, disciplinaries, grievances and capability.


• Support recruitment, onboarding, contracts, probation reviews and leavers.


• Review and maintain HR policies, procedures and employee records.


• Support organisational changes, pay reviews, training and employee development.


• Help improve consistency in people management across the business.


• Support day\-to\-day Health \& Safety, including risk assessments, workplace inspections, incident follow\-up and training.


• Work with external HR, legal and Health \& Safety advisers where specialist support is required.

You will have strong generalist HR experience and be confident managing HR matters independently.

CIPD Level 5 qualified, or currently working towards Level 5, is essential.

Practical Health \& Safety experience is also required. A recognised IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.

Experience within a warehouse, distribution, retail, manufacturing or similar operational environment would be beneficial.

We are looking for someone who is approachable, practical, organised and comfortable working closely with managers and employees at all levels.

Hours: Full\-time preferred, although part\-time or reduced hours will be considered for the right candidate.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Pay: £34,000\.00\-£37,000\.00 per year
