Q.A. Manager (food maufacturing) - Full time role
Sea Sisters are the UK's first Craft Fish cannery. We have a range of award winning canned fish we call British Conservas\- our products support the British fishing industry by using locally landed, ethically sourced fish that we pair with quality ingredients and innovative recipes.
This is a hands\-on, practical role based in our craft fish cannery in Salwayash, just outside of Bridport in West Dorset. You will be working closely with our energetic fish cannery production team. You will be responsible for maintaining critical food safety controls, ensuring all documentation is completed correctly and keeping quality records organised and audit\-ready. This role will involve a hands\-on training approach and the right candidate will receive thorough training on critical control points such as thermal processing and canning.
Key Responsibilities
● Carrying out and recording can seam integrity checks (seam measurements and visual inspections\- if you don't have prior experience we can train you)
● Monitoring and maintaining documentation for thermal processing / retort records (again we will train the right candidate)
● Completing and inputting quality and production records accurately and on time
● Ensuring compliance with SALSA standards across food safety, hygiene, traceability and documentation
● Maintaining HACCP/SALSA paperwork, CCP monitoring records, and corrective actions where required
● Supporting internal checks and preparation for audits/inspections
● Ensuring all records are correctly filed, traceable and easy to retrieve
● Communicating any issues clearly to the Production Manager and Director supporting investigation / corrective actions
● Supporting staff with food safety and record\-keeping best practice when needed
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
● Trained/educated in food safety technology/food manufacturing
● Strong understanding of food safety systems (HACCP, CCPs, hygiene, traceability)
● Confident with documentation, forms, and data input / record keeping
● Highly organised with great attention to detail
● Comfortable working in a production environment and working closely with a small team
● HACCP level 3
● Food Safety Level 3
Desirable:
● Experience in seafood, fish processing, or canning
● Understanding of thermal processing / retort procedures
● Experience working within SALSA requirements
● Familiarity with can seam measurement tools and safe seam standards

Pay: £35,000\.00\-£42,500\.00 per year
