About the Role

SCM is a forward moving, expanding company with excellent expertise in Robotics and Automation, working with major blue\-chip companies.

We are seeking an experienced and results\-driven Purchasing Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing procurement operations, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost\-effective purchasing strategies that support the organisation’s objectives.

You will play a key role in optimising supply chain performance, maintaining quality standards, and driving continuous improvement across all purchasing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective purchasing strategies aligned with company goals

  • Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best terms and pricing

  • Manage supplier relationships and performance to ensure quality, reliability, and value

  • Oversee procurement processes, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with internal departments to forecast demand

  • Identify cost\-saving opportunities and drive efficiency across the supply chain

  • Analyse market trends and assess risks to inform purchasing decisions

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the purchasing team
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager, or similar role

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship\-building skills

  • Excellent analytical and strategic thinking abilities

  • Experience with Sage Line 50

  • Solid understanding of supply chain management and purchasing processes

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast\-paced environment

  • Relevant degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Desirable Skills
  • Professional procurement certification (e.g., CIPS, CPSM)

  • Experience in \[industry—e.g., manufacturing, retail, logistics]
