About the Role

SCM is a forward moving, expanding company with excellent expertise in Robotics and Automation, working with major blue\-chip companies.

We are looking for an experienced and detail\-oriented Financial Controller to lead our finance function and support strategic decision\-making across the business. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring robust financial reporting, strong internal controls, and effective financial management.

You will work closely with senior leadership to provide insight, drive performance, and ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting

  • Prepare and deliver accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements, and tax regulations

  • Lead the year\-end audit process and liaise with external auditors

  • Develop and maintain strong internal controls and financial processes

  • Provide financial analysis and strategic insights to support business growth

  • Manage cash flow, working capital, and financial risk

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team

  • Partner with department heads to monitor budgets and improve financial performance
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager, or similar senior finance role

  • Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting standards and regulations

  • Advanced analytical and problem\-solving skills

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to influence non\-financial stakeholders

  • Experience with financial systems and ERP software

  • High attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in \[industry—e.g., manufacturing, technology, retail]

  • Experience in financial transformation or process improvement initiatives

  • System improvements and streamlining
