Controls Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and innovative Controls Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining control systems and automation processes to ensure optimal performance, efficiency, and safety across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, program, and implement control systems, including PLC, SCADA, and HMI solutions
- Develop and optimise automation processes to improve efficiency and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues and equipment faults
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to support system integration and upgrades
- Perform system testing, commissioning, and validation
- Maintain and update system documentation, schematics, and technical reports
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for innovation
- Proven experience as a Controls Engineer, Automation Engineer, or similar role
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming (e.g., Siemens, Allen\-Bradley)
- Experience with SCADA and HMI systems
- Solid understanding of electrical systems and industrial automation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings
- Strong problem\-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Ability to work away on customers site for periods of time
- Experience in \[industry—e.g., manufacturing, energy, FMCG, robotics]
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP)
- Experience with robotics and motion control systems
- Familiarity with safety systems and standards (e.g., IEC, ISO)
