Job Title: Purchasing Assistant
Reports to: Purchasing Manager
Qualifications /Experience
- 3rd Level Qualification in a business\-related field or similar modules or previous experience in a similar role preferred.
- Friendly, flexible and be willing to work as part of a team with a good work ethic.
- Good organisation and communication skills to work in fast paced environment.
- Ability to work under pressure and show initiative.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, in particular, MS Excel and ERP software.
- Ability to work in a fast\-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
The principal duties and responsibilities of the Purchasing Assistant are to manage the supplier and sub\-contractor relationship and to maintain best purchasing practices in order to maximise added value to the company at minimum acquisition cost.
Constantly review and maintain all links in the supply chain process in line with Good Distribution Practices to ensure that the company can meet its customer requirements.
To project a positive image of Cruinn Diagnostics by interacting with suppliers, visitors and customers in a professional, friendly and courteous manner at all times.
Duties
Purchase Ordering
- The placing of Purchase Orders with Suppliers as per customer demand and stock analysis, following Standard Operating Procedures and Good Distribution Practices.
- Ongoing review of stock holding and sales history patterns.
- Setting of re\-order stock levels to ensure that the correct amount of stock is available.
- Review of expired stock levels.
- Communication with sales personnel and the Customer Services Department regarding product forecasting and backorders.
- Prepare reports on procurement activities, supplier performance and cost analysis.
- Provide data and insights to aid in decision\-making.
- Maintain all supplier price lists.
- Assist with documentation related to deliveries and invoices.
- Liaise with the suppliers \& freight forwarders to schedule deliveries to ensure the smooth operations of the business.
- Entering products received onto the ERP system.
- Update part maintenance where applicable with information on HS Commodity Codes, Country of Origin and weight.
- The submission of monthly Intrastat reports to Revenue.
- Develop and maintain a thorough overview and strong understanding of our products within your area of expertise.
- Perform any other duties as requested by Cruinn Diagnostics Management.
- Maintain organised and up\-to\-date procurement records.
- Participate in company organised Manual Handling Training.
- Perform your duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Good Distribution Practice.
- Other ad hoc duties.
