The Opportunity
We are recruiting for a Production \& Materials Planner to join our growing FMCG manufacturing business.
This is a hands on planning role in a fast paced environment, responsible for creating and managing daily, weekly and monthly production plans, ensuring raw materials and packaging are available, supporting workforce planning, and maintaining accurate finished goods stock reconciliation.
Working closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and Sales, you will help ensure the factory is running to a realistic and achievable plan while improving service levels, stock accuracy and operational visibility.
This role is well suited to someone who is practical, organised and confident working in a manual planning environment using Excel and spreadsheets rather than a fully developed ERP or MRP system.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain daily, weekly and monthly production plans.
- Coordinate raw material and packaging availability against production requirements.
- Support short term workforce planning in line with production needs.
- Carry out daily finished goods stock reconciliation and resolve discrepancies.
- Adjust plans quickly in response to operational issues, changing priorities or supply constraints.
- Work closely with Production, Warehouse, Purchasing and Sales to keep plans aligned and achievable.
- Maintain planning spreadsheets, trackers and reporting tools.
- Help improve planning structure, accuracy and day to day control.
- Previous experience in production planning, materials planning or a similar role in manufacturing.
- Experience in FMCG or another fast moving, high volume production environment.
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working in a manual planning environment.
- Good understanding of production scheduling, stock control and materials availability.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- A practical, hands\-on and detail\-focused approach.
- Ability to stay organised and make sound decisions in a fast\-paced environment.
This is an opportunity to take on a visible and important role within a growing manufacturing business where planning is still largely managed manually. You will have the chance to make a real impact by bringing more structure, control and visibility to the planning process, while working closely with key teams across the operation.
This role would suit someone who enjoys problem solving, being close to the operation and helping drive improvement in a practical and grounded way.
If you have experience in production planning within a fast paced manufacturing environment and enjoy bringing structure and control to complex day to day operations, we would like to hear from you.
