Our reputable pharmacy based in Stoke\-on\-Trent is seeking a dedicated and detail\-oriented Accuracy Checking Technician (ACT) to join our team. As an ACT, you will play a vital role in ensuring our pharmacy consistently delivers high\-quality and accurate prescriptions to our valued customers. Responsibilities:
1\. Accurately check prescriptions prepared by dispensing team members, ensuring they are correctly assembled, labeled, and dosed according to pharmacy guidelines and legal requirements.
2\. Collaborate with dispensing staff to ensure prescriptions are completed in a timely manner while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy.
3\. Perform final checks on medication packaging, verifying correct drug, strength, and quantity for dispensing.
4\. Maintain accurate records of prescription checking and any related information as required by pharmacy regulations.
5\. Assist in stock management and inventory control, ensuring medication supplies are adequate and appropriately stored.
6\. Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals, patients, and internal team members to address any prescription\-related queries or concerns.
7\. Provide knowledgeable advice and guidance to customers regarding medication usage, potential side effects, and storage requirements.
8\. Follow pharmacy protocols and standard operating procedures to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
9\. Stay up\-to\-date with industry advancements, regulations, and best practices related to prescription accuracy and patient care.
Requirements:
- Completion of the Accuracy Checking Technician Course, as per GPhC standards, is essential.
- Previous experience as an Accuracy Checking Technician or similar role in a pharmacy setting is desirable.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills to ensure accurate dispensing of prescriptions.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to actively listen, empathize, and effectively respond to patients and healthcare professionals.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with pharmacy software.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast\-paced environment, multitasking and prioritizing tasks accordingly.
- A professional and courteous approach towards colleagues and customers.
- Flexibility to work on a rotational basis and availability to work some weekends as required.
