Mae’r ddogfen hon ar gael yn Gymraeg / This document is also available in Welsh.Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is seeking an organised, motivated and customer\-focused Performance \& Trade Waste Support Officer to join our Waste Services Team.
As a Performance \& Trade Waste Support Officer, the successful candidate will play a key role in helping residents and businesses across RCT have the resources they need to recycle, reuse and reduce their waste in line with the Waste Hierarchy.
You will support the effective delivery of Waste Services by maintaining accurate data, supporting trade waste administration, engaging with businesses, and assisting with the collation of performance information.
A key part of the role involves ensuring consistent stock levels of recycling bags, trade waste bags and bins, as well as assisting with the distribution of Duty of Care waste transfer notes. You will also help the service respond to changes in legislation, manage customer enquiries via telephone and email, and maintain accurate records for internal bag deliveries to support year‑end billing.
The role also includes assisting with performance data collection, including supporting Waste Dataflow submissions, and providing routine reports. You will ensure that all service requests and complaints are handled promptly and appropriately, keep Waste Services web pages updated, and provide general administrative support to the wider team as needed.
You will demonstrate strong ICT skills, with the ability to confidently use a wide range of digital tools and platforms to support effective service delivery. This includes competent use of Microsoft Office applications, data\-entry and database management, and the capacity to quickly learn bespoke systems relevant to the role. Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to interpret and present information clearly using digital technology are essential.
This role is offered on a hybrid working basis, the postholder will be required to work two days per week in the office, with three days working from home (flexibility will be required depending on workload). Office days are focused on team collaboration, service planning and activities that benefit from in‑person interaction, while home‑working days support concentrated work and greater flexibility.
