The role
AVA Waste Management Group is a growing waste and transport business looking for a reliable and organised Office Operations \& Transport Administrator to manage the day\-to\-day administrative functions that keep the operation running.
This is a busy, fast\-paced role where accuracy and consistency matter. You will be handling customer bookings, transport administration, driver paperwork, permits, and payment processing \- often simultaneously. The role requires someone who stays organised under pressure and takes their responsibilities seriously.
Responsibilities
- Managing inbound customer calls and processing skip hire bookings and enquiries
- Supporting daily job allocations and coordinating with drivers and the operations team
- Processing card and cash payments accurately and maintaining records
- Managing skip permits \- applying, tracking, and ensuring compliance with local authority requirements
- Checking and logging driver paperwork and operational records
- Updating and maintaining internal systems and job management software throughout the day
- Handling customer email correspondence professionally and promptly
- Supporting vehicle tracking and flagging any operational issues to the relevant team member
- General office administration as required in a growing business
- Previous office administration experience, ideally in transport, logistics, waste, or a similarly operational environment
- Confident telephone manner and strong customer communication skills
- High attention to detail \- particularly around data entry, payments, and record keeping
- Able to manage multiple tasks at the same time without losing accuracy
- Competent with computers and comfortable picking up internal systems quickly
- Reliable, consistent, and professional in approach
- Transport or logistics experience is an advantage but not a requirement \- the right attitude and work ethic matter more at this level
