Night Care Assistant

Responsibilities

• Monitor residents’ safety and well\-being throughout the night, responding promptly to any needs or emergencies


• Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility, and comfort checks in accordance with individual care plans


• Maintain accurate records of residents’ conditions, incidents, and any actions taken during your shift


• Communicate effectively with day staff to ensure seamless handovers and continuity of care


• Support residents in maintaining their routines and providing emotional reassurance during quiet hours


• Use IT systems to update care records, document incidents, and manage care plans efficiently


• Ensure the environment remains safe by conducting regular checks on the premises, including fire safety protocols

Experience

• Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is highly desirable but not essential; full training will be provided


• Strong communication skills in English to interact clearly with residents, colleagues, and emergency responders


• Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy, patience, and professionalism


• Basic IT literacy for documentation purposes


• Valid driving license is advantageous for roles involving community or home visits but not mandatory


• Knowledge of care plans and understanding of resident needs will support delivering personalized care

Pay: £12\.71 per hour
