Company Overview

TFLI is a leading global lead generation business, specialising in data\-driven customer acquisition at scale. We own and operate two powerful brands:

CommercialExperts.com \- helping SMEs to source better deals on a wide range of essential products and services

ConsumerExperts.com \- connecting consumers with trusted providers across multiple products

Across both brands we operate over 40 bespoke product websites as well as supporting more than 90 team members (and growing) across our offices in Tytherington, Macclesfield and Austin, Texas with high\-quality bespoke tools for marketing data analysis and sales growth.

As part of our continued company growth, we're looking for a Mid\-Level DevOps Engineer with strong skills in managing AWS infrastructure, building and supporting CI/CD pipelines, and embedding security across the deployment lifecycle to help us build a robust new system and deliver high\-quality solutions that support commercial growth.

The Role

Can you look at an AWS environment and understand not just what is running, but whether it is secure, resilient, observable, cost\-conscious, and fit for the job it needs to do?

Can you support and maintain existing infrastructure while continually seeking sensible ways to improve reliability, security, performance, automation, monitoring, and disaster recovery?

Can you spot the difference between “it works today” and “it is production\-ready, documented, monitored, backed up, recoverable, and ready to grow with the business”?

Can you help DevOps play a supportive role within the development and quality assurance teams by providing the infrastructure, deployment processes, environments, and guidance developers need to build scalable applications with confidence?

Can you work closely with developers to ask the useful questions early \- about performance, security, scaling, observability, data protection, and what happens when something fails \- without turning every conversation into a three\-hour architecture committee meeting?

Can you keep simplicity and supportability at the centre of your decisions? As a business, we continually innovate, but we do not adopt tools simply because they are shiny, new, or fashionable. We carefully consider whether a technology genuinely solves a problem, whether the team can support it, and whether it helps the business move forward. There is no point building the next big thing if no one understands how to use it, maintain it, or recover it when something goes wrong. We are a team, and we build capability together while helping the business excel with its growth plans.

And if you use AI\-assisted tools, can you treat them as helpful assistants rather than unquestionable experts \- checking the output carefully, understanding the risks, and making sure anything used in production is secure, appropriate, and properly reviewed?

If, and only if, you’ve answered YES to all of the above, here’s the rest:

What You’ll Be Doing

· Supporting the day\-to\-day running, maintenance, and improvement of our AWS infrastructure, working closely with the DevOps Infrastructure Lead.

· Helping strengthen our current infrastructure across efficiency, redundancy, security, monitoring, observability, disaster recovery, automation, and operational resilience.

· Maintaining and improving cloud infrastructure using infrastructure\-as\-code practices, ensuring changes are repeatable, reviewable, and properly documented.

· Supporting, improving, and troubleshooting CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, environment configuration, and release processes.

· Working with development teams to make sure applications are deployed securely, reliably, and in a way that supports good engineering practice.

· Helping monitor production systems, investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement changes that reduce the chance of the same issue happening again.

· Improving logging, metrics, alerts, dashboards, and operational visibility so that problems can be found early and understood quickly.

· Supporting backup, restore, and disaster recovery processes, including testing that recovery plans actually work rather than just looking reassuring in a document.

· Helping manage infrastructure security, including IAM, network access, secrets, patching, vulnerability management, and least\-privilege access.

· Working with the DevOps Infrastructure Lead and wider tech team on the design and delivery of our next\-generation systems.

· Contributing to technical discussions around architecture, scalability, deployment strategy, security, data flow, and operational design.

· Supporting both legacy systems and green field projects \- improving what exists while helping shape what comes next.

What We’re Looking For

· 3\+ years of experience in DevOps, infrastructure, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or a similar technical operations role.

· Strong hands\-on experience with AWS services and cloud infrastructure.

· Good understanding of core AWS areas such as EC2, VPC, IAM, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, load balancing, networking, security groups, and backup/recovery patterns.

· Experience with infrastructure as code, ideally CloudFormation, or similar tooling.

· Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.

· Comfortable working with Linux\-based systems, shell scripting, logs, services, permissions, and general server troubleshooting.

· Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including DNS, routing, firewalls, SSL/TLS, VPNs, subnets, and load balancers.

· Awareness of security best practices across cloud infrastructure, access control, secrets management, patching, and auditability.

· Experience with monitoring and observability tools, including metrics, logs, alerting, dashboards, and incident investigation.

· Ability to troubleshoot real\-world production problems calmly and methodically.

· Comfortable working with developers, understanding application needs, and helping bridge the gap between software delivery and infrastructure operations.

· Good written communication skills, especially around documentation, change notes, incident summaries, and technical recommendations.

· Able to manage your own workload, prioritise sensibly, and raise risks early.
