Technical Lead – Underfloor Heating
The Underfloor Heating Company is looking for an experienced and technically minded Technical Lead to join our growing team.
This is a key role within the business, taking responsibility for the technical design and delivery of underfloor heating projects, from reviewing drawings and specifications through to producing accurate system designs and providing technical support.
We’re looking for somebody who understands heating systems, is confident working with technical drawings and can communicate clearly with customers, installers, suppliers and the wider team.
Key responsibilities:
Produce accurate underfloor heating designs and layouts using LoopCAD
Review architectural drawings, floor plans and project specifications
Carry out heat\-loss calculations and system sizing
Specify pipe layouts, manifolds, controls and other UFH components
Prepare technical information to support quotations and project delivery
Provide technical advice to customers, installers and colleagues
Troubleshoot technical and installation queries
Ensure designs comply with relevant standards and manufacturer requirements
Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers where required
Help develop and improve our technical processes as the business grows
Support the introduction of new heating products and technologies
Essential skills and experience:
Proficient in LoopCAD
Experience designing underfloor heating or hydronic heating systems
Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings
Good understanding of heat\-loss calculations and heating system design
Strong technical and problem\-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail
Confident communicating technical information in a clear, practical way
Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities
Experience with heat pumps, heating controls, plumbing systems or renewable heating technologies would be advantageous.
