Medical Receptionist
We are a friendly forward thinking Practice in Wythenshawe. We have an excellent established clinical team and a very experienced administrative team.
We are looking to employ a Medical Receptionist, to work part time, (25 hours p/w \- Monday to Friday).
The Practice works with EMIS Web clinical system and DOCMAN 10, experience of both would be an advantage but training would be given to the right candidate.
Our team is made up of vast experience both clinically and administrative.
You will become part of a very supportive and forward thinking team, we offer an excellent Induction programme and you will have comprehensive programme of training in the role, we also put you forward to online training courses as needed.
The Practice is based in a modern, comfortable building and there is on site parking. The ethos of the Practice is relaxed and supportive.
The applicant would be expected to possess excellent people skills and understand the importance of good customer care and confidentiality.
You will need to be of a mature and empathetic nature, and have a friendly can do attitude. Good literacy and IT skills are essential.
Duties will include liaising with patients and other visitors to the practice both face to face and over the telephone. You would also be required to give general office support such as filing, post, data entry etc Please see the job description for more details. Greet patients and visitors to the practice. Book in, amend and cancel patient appointment in line with practice appointments procedures.
Receive and accurately record requests for home visits, assessing urgency in accordance with the Practices protocols.
Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and temporary residents, ensure procedures are completed.
Set\-up of new patients onto the computer system. Produce repeat prescriptions according to practice procedures. Ensure correspondence, reports, results etc. are filed electronically in correct patient record.
Answering incoming telephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly. Action start and end of day procedures. Ensure referrals are emailed as appropriate and documented onto the patients records. Check emails on a daily basis. Send requests to District Nurses as required via the local referral unit.
