Management Accountant

Management Accountant - Temporary Assignment Salary equivalent: £55,000
Location: Sheffield
Duration: Initially 3 months, with a view to extending to 5 months

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for a Management Accountant to join a growing organisation in Sheffield on a temporary basis.

This is a broad role within the finance team, covering core management accounting alongside wider finance responsibilities. You’ll work closely with the Finance Manager and take ownership of key month-end, reporting and cashflow processes, as well as having the opportunity to improve processes and ways of working.

The role The Management Accountant will be responsible for:

• Taking ownership of month-end procedures


• Preparing variance analysis and providing clear commentary


• Managing purchase and sales ledger activities


• Completing bank and account reconciliations


• Preparing VAT returns and liaising with HMRC


• Leading cashflow forecasting and monitoring


• Supporting audit activity as required


• Overseeing the central contracts store and maintaining version control


• Identifying opportunities to improve finance processes and ways of working


• Supporting the development of a more digitally focused finance function

About you We’re looking for a fully qualified Management Accountant with strong month-end and reporting experience who is confident working across a broad range of finance activities.

You’ll have solid experience across management accounts, variance analysis, reconciliations and cashflow forecasting, with the ability to work independently and take ownership of your responsibilities.

You’ll be organised, commercially aware and able to communicate financial information clearly. A proactive approach and experience of improving processes or introducing more efficient ways of working would also be beneficial.
