• Location: Sheffield, S2


• Job Type: Temporary contract, 37hrs per week, Mon to Fri, 8am to 4pm with some flexibility

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Electrical Team Leader to join the Corporate Repairs Team at Sheffield City Council. Based at Manor Lane Depot, you will lead a team of electricians and multi-skilled operatives in delivering responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and minor capital works across the Council's diverse corporate property portfolio.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Plan and coordinate responsive repairs, programmed maintenance, and minor electrical projects.


• Manage resources, materials, plant, transport, and subcontractors to achieve service objectives.


• Ensure compliance with electrical regulations, health and safety legislation, CDM requirements, and Council policies.


• Use ICT systems to manage workloads, monitor performance, and improve service delivery.


• Act as the Council's NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (QS), providing technical oversight of electrical installations, inspection, and testing activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Relevant electrical qualification to a minimum of NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.


• City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection and Testing qualification (or equivalent) and substantial electrical maintenance experience.


• Strong knowledge of electrical safety, health and safety legislation, CDM regulations, and industry good practice.


• Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.


• Ability to motivate teams, manage performance, and deliver results in a demanding operational environment.


• Customer-focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement.


• Willingness to work flexibly and travel across the Council's estate as required.
