Role Purpose
The primary purpose of this role is to maintain the Hotel and Spa to the highest possible standards while supporting the ongoing maintenance of The Coniston Hotel and Nàdarra Spa.
The role holder will ensure all maintenance tasks are completed promptly, safely and efficiently, contributing to an exceptional guest and member experience. All duties must be carried out in line with statutory, legal and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance
- Carry out daily maintenance tasks and repairs across the hotel and spa.
- Complete a range of general plumbing duties across the hotel and spa
- Complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance checklists in line with the Estate maintenance programme.
- Undertake painting and decorating duties as required.
- Respond promptly and effectively to maintenance enquiries.
- Resolve guest\-related maintenance concerns in a timely manner.
- Ensure all work complies with company health and safety standards.
- Report maintenance issues or risks to the Maintenance Manager.
- Support energy conservation initiatives and suggest improvements.
- Carry out quality inspections in line with company standards.
- Follow COSHH regulations, particularly regarding hazardous substance storage.
- Attend all required training and development sessions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the estate.
- Maintain hotel and Nàdarra Spa grounds to the highest standards.
- Perform mowing, strimming and general grounds upkeep.
- Keep all areas free from weeds, leaves and debris.
- Water and feed planting areas as required.
- Use machinery and equipment correctly and safely.
- Ensure safe and correct chemical application, using only food\-safe chemicals near produce crops.
- Report dangerous branches, dead or leaning trees to the Estate Gardener.
- Assist with new grounds and landscaping projects.
- Maintain the Treatment Plant in line with operational requirements.
- Engage positively with guests and demonstrate knowledge of the grounds and gardens.
- Work in full compliance with company policies and statutory regulations.
- Adhere to COSHH and safe working practices at all times.
- Ensure safe use and storage of tools, machinery and chemicals.
- Immediately report any hazards or safety concerns.
Essential
- Full UK Manual Driving Licence
- Proven experience in gardening and general maintenance
- Basic skills in electrical, plumbing, painting and decorating
- Positive “can do, will do” attitude
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to liaise effectively across departments
- Flexible and adaptable approach to work
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Passion for delivering excellent guest service
- Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality maintenance role
- Experience working within estate or large grounds environments
