We currently operate in Rotterdam and are expanding with a new location in Utrecht. As our network continues to grow, we are looking for strong Location Managers who can take ownership of one of our arenas.

The Role

As Location Manager, you take ownership of the day\-to\-day operations and performance of your Friendly Fire arena.

You will manage the onsite team, organize shifts, maintain operational standards, solve day\-to\-day issues, and make sure our customers have a great experience.

This is a hands\-on management role. You are expected not only to manage the team, but also to be present on the arena floor and perform regular administrator duties whenever needed.

We are looking for someone who notices problems, takes initiative, generates ideas, and actively looks for ways to improve the location rather than simply following instructions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the daily operations and performance of your location

  • Lead, support, and coordinate the onsite team

  • Create and maintain staff schedules and shift planning

  • Make sure all shifts are properly covered

  • Step in and cover shifts when necessary

  • Monitor staff performance and provide regular feedback

  • Train and onboard new team members

  • Set expectations and ensure operational standards are followed

  • Handle day\-to\-day operational issues and find solutions independently

  • Handle basic administration and operational reporting

  • Reply to relevant emails and internal communication

  • Monitor stock and make sure necessary supplies are available

  • Support tournaments, events, promotions, and other activities

  • Generate ideas for events, community activities, marketing, and content

  • Look for opportunities to increase revenue and improve sales and upselling

  • Build relationships with regular customers and develop the local gaming community

  • Share best practices and cooperate with management and other Friendly Fire locations

  • Work closely with management on improving the commercial performance of your arena
Working on the Arena Floor

The Location Manager is also expected to perform the same operational duties as an arena administrator when required, including:

  • Welcome customers and explain how the arena, accounts, pricing, and gaming systems work

  • Help customers choose PCs, consoles, racing simulators, packages, and playtime

  • Register new customers and assist them with starting their gaming sessions

  • Process payments and purchases

  • Sell and upsell playtime, packages, snacks, and drinks

  • Check whether customers need additional playtime, drinks, snacks, or assistance

  • Help customers with basic PC, game, account, peripheral, console, and simulator issues

  • Monitor the gaming area and make sure equipment is being used properly

  • Keep PCs, desks, peripherals, consoles, simulators, common areas, and reception clean and organized

  • Restock drinks, snacks, and other supplies

  • Open and close the location when required
The Location Manager is expected to lead by example. When the arena is busy, a customer needs help, something needs cleaning, or the team needs support, the manager should be ready to step in.

What We’re Looking For Required

  • Proven experience managing a team is mandatory. You should have real hands\-on experience leading employees, organizing their work, setting expectations, giving feedback, solving team issues, and being responsible for overall team performance

  • Strong sense of responsibility and ownership

  • Proactive mindset — you notice things and act without waiting to be told

  • Strong organizational and planning skills

  • Comfortable making decisions and solving problems independently

  • Strong communication and people\-management skills

  • Customer\-focused and commercially minded

  • Comfortable working directly with customers and spending significant time on the arena floor

  • Willing to work evenings and weekends when required

  • Fluent or confident in English

  • Fluent Dutch
Strong Advantages
  • Being a gamer yourself. Experience playing PC or console games and understanding gaming culture is a strong plus. Knowledge of games such as CS2, Valorant, League of Legends, Fortnite, EA FC, etc. will help you understand our customers and community

  • Experience in HoReCa / hospitality. Experience working in or managing a restaurant, café, bar, hotel, entertainment venue, or another high\-traffic customer\-facing business is a strong advantage

  • Experience organizing events, tournaments, or community activities

  • Sales and upselling experience

  • Experience working in a multi\-location business or chain
Compensation \& Growth

We want our Location Managers to benefit directly from the success of their locations and grow together with Friendly Fire.

  • Starting salary: €19 gross per hour on a full\-time contract

  • Salary review after successful completion of the probation period, with the opportunity for an increase based on performance

  • After successful completion of the probation period, you will receive a percentage of your location’s profit on top of your fixed salary

  • The better your location performs financially, the greater your earning potential through the profit\-sharing scheme

  • Clear career growth opportunity: as Friendly Fire expands to more locations, a high\-performing Location Manager can grow into a Regional Manager position and take responsibility for multiple arenas
We are looking for someone who wants more than just a shift\-management job. This is an opportunity to run a Friendly Fire location as your own business, directly benefit from its financial success, and potentially grow from managing one arena to managing multiple locations.

The most important thing for us is ownership: we want someone who takes responsibility for their location, team, customer experience, and commercial results — and constantly thinks about how all of them can be improved.
