Lead Clinical Pharmacist - North PCN
Would you like to work as a lead pharmacist in general practice joining the newest and most exciting branch of the pharmacy profession?
We are looking to recruit a Lead Clinical Pharmacists who will work as part of a multi\-disciplinary team in a patient\-facing role in Doncaster Primary Care Network (PCN). The role will be working within a great team including a senior pharmacist who will provide clinical supervision, four other pharmacists and three pharmacy technicians. The role involves all aspects of pharmacist support including liaison with community pharmacy.
This role will be based working within North Primary Care Network.
We are seeking a Lead Clinical Pharmacist educated to degree level, registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC), possessing a Masters Degree (MPharm) or equivalent.
You will need to be flexible in your approach to work as the role will be working across the three practices in our Primary Care Network, providing pharmacy services, including;
Optimise the use of medicines
Support the PCNs with regards to prescription and medication queries
Improve the safety and quality of prescribing
Providing support and education to patients on self\-management and ensure referral to appropriate healthcare professionals if required
Implement and manage the repeat prescribing process for practice and patient request

- Lead a team of Clinical Pharmacists team and demonstrate the characteristics of a role model to members in the team providing support to team members and ensure there is appropriate clinical supervision in place for all pharmacists
- Undertake clinical supervision and systematic peer caseload review of colleagues on an individual or group basis
- Ensure all pharmacists are engaged with the review and appraisal systems within the PCN
- Act as a role model demonstrating effective clinical leadership on a daily basis and promote the behaviours of being proactive positive respectful supportive reliable and trustworthy
Understand the implications of national priorities for the team and/or service and manage the team of Clinical Pharmacists through these changes
Assess and monitor risk in own and others practice acting on results thereby ensuring safe delivery of care
Follow professional and organisational policies and procedures relating to performance management.
