Start Date: Monday 5th October 2026

Salary: £22,400 \- £26,325

Working Hours: 8:00\- 16:30 Monday – Friday.

Our approach includes various assessments to track and develop student progress, which are shared with both schools and families.

About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our supportive team. This is an exciting opportunity for a current member of staff looking to further develop their skills and make a greater impact on our pupils' learning.

As a HLTA, you will play a key role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, including leading whole\-class sessions when required and providing targeted support to small groups or individual pupils. You will continue to carry out essential teaching assistant duties while also taking on enhanced responsibilities, including leading lessons and supporting curriculum delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

Teaching and Learning Support Student Progress and Achievement SEND and Inclusion Support Behaviour and Pastoral Support Safeguarding and Student Welfare

Work in partnership with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver Thematics and other

learning activities.

Monitor and record student progress and attainment.

Support students with SEND, EHCPs, and additional learning needs.

Promote positive behaviour and reinforce school expectations.

Safeguard and promote the welfare of all students.

Lead whole\-class, small\-group, and one\-to\-one learning sessions under the direction of teaching staff.

Provide feedback to teachers on student performance and engagement.

Implement individual support plans and learning strategies.

Support students in developing confidence, resilience, independence, and social skills. Follow school safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.

Deliver lessons and supervise classes in the planned or short\-term absence of a teacher.

Support the assessment of learning through observation, questioning, and marking activities as directed.

Promote inclusive practices and ensure all students can participate fully in learning.

Assist in managing behaviour and resolving low\-level issues appropriately.

Report concerns promptly and accurately in accordance with school policy.

Support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving learning objectives.

Deliver targeted interventions to support students who require additional academic support.

Work collaboratively with teachers, the lead for SEND and support staff to meet student needs.

Support student wellbeing and contribute to a positive learning environment.

Contribute to maintaining a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment.

Promote high expectations of behaviour, engagement, and achievement.

Contribute to strategies that raise attainment and close achievement gaps.

Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of individual students.

Assist with record keeping, assessment data, and intervention tracking.

Prepare and organise learning resources and classroom materials.
