Graduate Mechanical Engineer

The position will involve some or all of the following key tasks at varying times:

Relationships

Report to the Senior Mechanical Engineer or project/business Director.

Collaborate with the Electrical and Mechanical engineers within the Project Team, with technical support from the Senior engineers connected to the project(s) or Project/Business Director.

Job Summary

Responsible for assisting Mechanical Engineers on a selection of projects, including responsibility for completing mechanical design with assistance and direction from senior engineers, reporting on workloads and agreeing priorities with design lead.

Responsible for acting as a Graduate Design Engineer and assisting other engineers within the Project Team.

Assist the project engineers in advising on personnel resourcing/workload, agreeing design goals with project senior, attending weekly team meetings and assisting in seeking ways of improving the efficiency and productivity of your personal design activities.

Promote the business ‘can\-do’ attitude ensuring this is instilled in every project and imparted by all within the MEP design team.

Graduate Duties – To work towards

The Graduate Engineer proves ability to operate on multiple projects with assistance from the Mechanical Project engineers.T

he Graduate Engineer is to complete detailed mechanical design with support from other Engineers in their design duties.

The Graduate Engineer is to complete calculations to prove design for domestics, ventilation, heating and cooling systems with support from project engineers.

The Graduate Engineer is to assist with coordinating the design with electrical design members.

The Graduate Engineer is to feed into project engineering team for their attendance in design team meetings. Where applicable limited attendance alongside project engineer will be required to glean required experience.

The Graduate Engineer is to manage personal design work loads with assistance from project engineer. Dates/targets should be agreed with project engineer and aligned with client target dates to ensure timely issue of information.

The Graduate Engineer should constantly seeks ways of improving the efficiency of their work.

The Graduate Engineer is to continually seek to adopt the most up\-to\-date practices and to be innovative in their application.

The Graduate Engineer is to provide details to the Sustainability Engineers with modelling input data and criteria.

The Graduate Engineer is to concentrate on their personal and professional development with the support from the senior team members.

The Graduate Engineer should show interest and seeks ways of developing their knowledge in other engineering disciplines.

The Graduate Engineer is to self\-check work to minimise errors prior to submission to Senior Engineers for QA.

Marketing

The Graduate Engineer is to ensure work is completed to a satisfactory standard to ensure clients are satisfied with the quality of service provided.

Technical Ability

The Graduate Engineer is to have a basic understanding of the current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, British standards, BSRIA documentation and all other general design guides associated with the building services industry. It is expected that the content of these documents will not be fully understood however the knowledge of what documents cover what elements is expected.

The Engineer is to be IT literate, with a working knowledge of office, AutoCAD and Hevacomp.

The Engineer is as a minimum to be Affiliate or Graduate grade and beginning the process of working towards Member of CIBSE accreditation later in their professional career.

Job Types: Full\-time, Permanent, Graduate

Pay: £27,000\.00\-£29,000\.00 per year
